The scope of biokinetics is large and diverse. It can help to manage physical abilities in people of all ages and promotes a better quality of life by using exercise as a treatment modality. It is therapeutic and preventative, and helps to identify potential risk factors that will inhibit free movement and overall wellness, and implements corrective exercise to promote wellness and better physical functioning.

It can help in pain management by strengthening muscles, correcting muscle imbalances, improving flexibility and promoting better mobility in the joints. Endocrine disorders, Orthopaedic conditions, Neurological conditions and sports injuries all fall under the scope of biokinetics.

Meet Our Team

I have a decade of experience and I have been running my own practice since 2011. I have a special interest in orthopaedic and sports injury rehabilitation, kids training and I am also passionate about pre and postnatal training and rehabilitation. My approach to biokinetics is a holistic one where I am passionate about training movement and not just muscle, and empowering my patients through knowledge and helping them reach their goals in a positive environment.

Shehnaaz Bhabha

I graduated from the University of the Free State in 2010 with BA(hons) Biokinetics. I am passionate about shoulder rehabilitation, chronic and metabolic diseases and sport specific exercises. My other interests include running, becoming as strong as I can and enjoying life.

Elné Stapelberg

I graduated from the University of Johannesburg in 2015 with a BA (hons) Biokinetics. I am passionate about orthopaedic rehabilitation, childhood development as well as general and sports specific exercises. In my spare time I enjoy running, netball, krav maga and am involved in community based organisations and projects.

Cayla Urdang

After I completed my 3 year BSc degree in Human Movement Sciences and Physiology at North West University I went on to complete my Honours Degree in Biokinetics at the University of Wirtwatersrand in 2018.

My special interests include child development and pediatrics, womens health, special populations, prenatal and antenatal populations as well as neurological conditions.
